Welcome
The property is managed by Mary who is English, lives locally and knows the area very well. This area is rich in history and Le Brandau is ideally situated for exploring by car or bicycle. Attractions include visiting the many beautiful ancient towns and villages. Wine lovers can visit the Bergerac vineyards and St Emilion.
Close by are facilities for golf at the famous Chateau de Vigiers, horse riding, canoeing on the Dordogne, water parks, tennis and a lake for swimming. You will find bicycles, a large circular trampoline with safety net, croquet, table tennis, badminton and other games at the property. The accommodation consists of two properties, both dating from the 18th Century. The main house, Le Brandau, and a Cottage or guest accommodation, situated about 25 metres apart. Both properties enjoy complete privacy and are surrounded by lawns, flower beds and farmland. Within the garden is a swimming pool, in a spectacular and picturesque position, with views over the countryside. Although the Cottage or guest accommodation is set within the grounds of the owners' house, it is completely self-contained, with its privacy and own outlook onto its own gardens and fields of sunflowers and corn.
The main house dates from 1760 and is surrounded by 3 acres of beautiful grounds with a swimming pool and large pond. Most of the ground floor rooms open onto terraces or the lovely gardens. There is an outdoor dining terrace and barbecue outside the kitchen, shaded by trees and a pergola of vines. It has been sympathetically restored, retaining the original ceiling beams and wonderful fireplaces. The interior is exceptionally light and spacious and has been very tastefully furnished with a mixture of antique and classic furniture and is very well equipped. It is ideal for winter lets as it has central heating throughout and open fireplaces in the main rooms. Distances
